Unitarian Universalist
Society of San Francisco (UUSF) Website
As I move further into management and oversight, my basic web programming skills have been getting
a little rusty, so I decided that I needed to find a project where I could keep these skills up to date. When I first got involved with UUSF, I noticed
that their website was badly in need of an update, and I thought this
would be an excellent opportunity to refresh my skills on a worthwhile
project with redeeming social value.
The UUSF website project has been plagued by the usual difficulties
when working with a non-profit operation who relies heavily on volunteer
participation. It has taken a lot of effort to track down and verify
content, and then to get it into an easy-to-use and easy-to-read format,
but it has been a rewarding experience.
You can view the current (and still evolving) site at www.uusf.org.
I am still acting as webmaster for all ongoing updates. Our current efforts are centered around fleshing out website content and establishing systems to maintain that content, but in the future we hope to make great strides toward providing administrative interfaces so that site content may be updated by any volunteer (with proper login priviledges) without the need to involve a web developer.
