Actuator Selection Aid
(right)
Cameron's Actuator Selection Aid took pre-existing
lesson content and turned it into a free-standing sales tool. While talking
to potential customers, salespeople may move through each linear step
or jump directly to pertinent information using the presistent paging
buttons across the bottom of the interface. The final step makes a product
recommendation based on gathered data.
The program's mascot is one of my creations. I was given a profile
of the target audience, from which I produced a character which the
audience
could relate to as helpful and friendly.

I was on the interface design team for
this project. The main menu as well as several commonly used tools are
available at any time by clicking on the pipe on the right side of the
screen. The screen captures show the main menu and a typical content
screen. When the user pages forward or back using the buttons on the
bottom, right, the valve wheel turns in the appropriate direction as
the page changes. (We had to have some fun somewhere in an otherwise
straight-forward linear paging lesson!)
